I truly believe that everyone is just doing the best they can with what they’ve been given—wherever they are in life.
Most people aren’t choosing sadness or struggle. They’re simply unaware of how their brain and subconscious are running the show. If you’re not actively reprogramming your mind, believe that someone or something else is. It’s in everything—from movies to TV, radio, peer pressure, advertising, organizations. Everything is designed to influence you. And most of what’s running the show was programmed before you could even understand the world around you.
So much of our subconscious programming is formed in early childhood—before we even had words. Between birth and age 7, our brains are like sponges, absorbing everything around us without question. We don’t rationalize, we internalize. That means beliefs about love, money, safety, and self-worth often come from unhealed parents, chaotic environments, or the culture we were raised in. And unless we go back and rewire those patterns, we end up living out someone else’s pain.
And this is where generational trauma enters the conversation.
Generational trauma isn’t just about what happened to you. It’s about what happened to your parents, your grandparents, and everyone before them. It’s the legacy of unhealed wounds passed down silently through behaviors, belief systems, nervous system responses, and energy. Trauma that doesn’t get healed gets handed down.
So if your mom didn’t feel safe to express emotion, you might find yourself emotionally shut down too. If your dad believed money was hard to come by, you might still be carrying scarcity in your bones. If no one before you felt free, then freedom might feel unsafe to you, even if you crave it.
We inherit these stories, these fears, these patterns. But we also inherit the power to break them.
Healing is not just about fixing your pain. It’s about interrupting the cycle. It’s about becoming conscious of what’s no longer yours to carry and choosing to write a new program. It’s about choosing thoughts, beliefs, and actions that align with the life you want—not the one you were handed.
That’s why awareness matters. That’s why therapy matters. That’s why journaling, meditating, reprogramming, and reconnecting with your inner child matter.
Because if you don’t consciously rewire your mind, you’re likely living out someone else’s unresolved story.
But when you do the work—the deep, soul-expanding, sometimes ugly, sometimes beautiful work of healing—you don’t just change your life.
You change your lineage.
And nearly everyone has a version of the mother wound or father wound.
These aren’t just buzzwords—they’re the emotional imprints left from the ways we didn’t receive what we needed from our primary caregivers. They can show up as abandonment, control, emotional unavailability, enmeshment, perfectionism, fear of intimacy, and so much more. Our parents were often doing their best with what they had, but if they hadn’t healed their own trauma, they unconsciously passed it down.
This is why the healing journey is both deeply personal and wildly ancestral. You’re not just healing for yourself—you’re healing the entire line.
And that’s how we make the world better. One subconscious pattern at a time.
