STILL RISING
Original Photography by Authentic Courtney
Thank you for purchasing “Still Rising.”
ABOUT THIS PHOTOGRAPH
The sky isn’t always clear when you’re rising.
Sometimes there are clouds.
Sometimes there are shadows.
Sometimes the path upward is tangled, uncertain, and darker than you
expected it to be.
And still, you rise.
I photographed this moon glowing through layers of pink and purple
clouds, framed by the dark silhouettes of the landscape below.
It wasn’t a perfectly clear night.
That’s part of what made it beautiful.
Right now, I’m learning something similar about my own life.
Moving forward doesn’t require everything around me to become easy
first.
I can still build while things are uncertain.
I can still create while I don’t know exactly what happens next.
I can still believe in a future I can’t completely see yet.
I can still rise.
Not because the clouds disappeared.
Not because everything became clear.
Not because someone cleared the path for me.
Because rising is what I’m choosing to do.
“Still Rising” is a photograph about becoming while you’re still
inside the uncertainty.
The darkness can be there.
The clouds can be there.
The tangled things can be there.
And you can still rise.
