Sometimes you find exactly what you need in a place you weren’t expecting to find it.

A heart in the rocks.

Not a perfect heart.

Not smooth.
Not polished.
Not untouched.

A rough, weathered heart sitting among other rocks beneath an enormous desert sky.

And somehow, unmistakably, still a heart.

That’s what I love about this photograph.

It reminds me that love doesn’t always arrive looking the way we imagined it would.

Sometimes it’s imperfect.

Sometimes it’s been weathered.

Sometimes you have to notice it.

Sometimes you have to recognize it among everything else surrounding you.

And sometimes, when life feels hard, uncertain, or lonely, you look down and discover a reminder:

Love is still here.

I’m learning to pay attention to those reminders.

To notice what is beautiful.
To recognize what remains.
To find meaning in ordinary things and unexpected places.
