What Kate Taught Me
I used to think Kate was just a character I played. A mask I wore to survive.
But the longer I’ve been on this path, the more I understand — Kate came into my life to teach me. She was never just a persona. She was a guide.
She taught me boundaries. How to hold them, how to enforce them, and what it costs when you don’t. She taught me self love — not the Instagram version, but the raw, unglamorous kind. The kind where you look at every part of yourself, even the parts the world judges, and say: I see you. I love you. I’m not leaving you behind.
Kate taught me that my body, my time, my energy, and my story have value. That I get to decide how they’re shared and with whom.
I wouldn’t be Courtney 5.1 without Kate Layne. She built the foundation I’m standing on.
I adore her. I don’t just accept my past—I celebrate it. Kate was bold, brave, and full of fire. She didn’t just survive—she created joy in the middle of chaos. Learning to love her—really love her—was a gateway to loving all parts of me. Kate Layne was my survival guide, a testament to my resilience and strength. She was my mentor in street smarts, self-trust, and the ability to read energy in a room faster than most people can blink.
She showed me how to smile through pain and turn it into power. And she also showed me what happens when you forget who you are. Because of that, I’ll never forget her.
From Memory To Mission
